A step up in intensity, this wine features a proportion of semi-dried grapes that gives it more intensity and complexity on both the nose and the palate, darker cherries with aromatic herbs, a touch of spice and cocoa with a long dry finish.
This has to be one of my go to favourite Italian reds. Cherries & dark berry fruit a really good balance with smooth tannins that linger. I think it’s exceptional. Emma.
Marco Provolo is the third generation to work the land above the village of Mezzane di Sotto, between the town of Soave and the city of Verona, wine has been produced here since Roman times. The slopes are well drained limestone and clay with good exposure to the sun and winds that keep the vines healthy. He cultivates the traditional grape varieties to make both red and white wines.
